Thanks to the heavy rain season in California, the water level of Lake Cachuma lake is higher than it has been in over five years. As of March 28, 2019, it is at 78.0% of capacity. Sportsmen, boaters, anglers and families are enjoying the rebirth of the lake.The lake offers wildlife boat tours Friday through Sunday, where for two hours riders visit several parts of this huge lake and can may hawks, Blue Herons, Egrets, swallows, and more.Cachuma Lake is a reservoir in the Santa Ynez Valley of central Santa Barbara County, California on the Santa Ynez River adjoining the north side of California State Route 154. The artificial lake was created by the construction of Bradbury Dam, built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in 1953.
