During several days, the town is drown in an amazing and wonderful atmosphere where history, folklore are mixed to create a unique conviviality. Parade for the celebration called le doudou in Mons, Belgium. The celebration, which looks back on 500 years of history, has turned into a week long festival fuelled by music, madness and large amounts of the local brew. Officially it is called the Battle of Lumeçon but - as the locals have affectionately dubbed it - Le Doudou. Marching bands in medieval costumes, mounted police and dancing nuns are just a few of the spectacles in this carnival-like procession, that kicks off the day here in Mons
