The Pale Chanting Goshawk (Melierax canorus) is near-endemic to southern Africa, occurring from south-western Angola through Namibia and Botswana to the western half of South Africa. It generally prefers the Kalahari woodland, Acacia thornveld and woodland in the Namib Desert. Adult bird (grey color) with approaching young bird (Kalahari desert, South Africa / Botswana).
