Description
The carcará is easily recognizable, when resting, by the fact that it has a kind of black skullcap over its head, as well as a tall, pointed beak, which resembles the blade of a cleaver; the face is red. It is covered in black on the upper part and has on the chest a combination of light brown with black stripes, of carijó / pedrês type; long yellow legs; in flight, resembles a vulture, but is recognizable by two light-colored patches on the end of the wings.
