Description

Two enormous statues of lions in Mingun guard the east stairway of the unfinished Pahtodawgyi Stupa which faces the Ayeyawaddy river. Like the stupa, the lions were damaged by an earthquake in 1838, nevertheless they are impressive structures and remain a monument to an egocentric King.
