A model of a logger riding on the first snowmobile that was pulled by an ox. The man is holding an axe and the snowmobile is pulling logs. Carl Eliason of Sayner, Wisconsin developed the prototype of the modern snowmobile in 1924. He mounted a small gasoline powered marine engine on a long toboggan steered with skis.
