Description
The old Tilbury B Power Station was demolished in March 2019. The Port of Tilbury made an application for a new port terminal and associated facilities near to the existing Port of Tilbury which has been approved in June 2019. This is known as Tilbury 2 and will act as a satellite to the main Port of Tilbury. The project will be located on the western part of the former Tilbury Power Station in Thurrock Council`s area. It will include: a new roll-on roll-off terminal for importing and exporting containers on road trailers;a facility for importing and processing bulk construction materials;improvement of and extensions to the existing jetty;external storage areas;a new link road; and a new rail spur and sidings to provide rail access to the site.
