Pictured is The Porta Dei Carmini entrance of the Sforza Castle in Milan, northern Italy. It was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke on Milan, on the remnants of a 14th century fortification. It was the princely residence of the Duke. Above the entrance is a coat of arms. On one side the biscione, an azure serpent consuming a human, the emblem of Visconti and the symbol of Milan. On the other side three imperial eagles.
