Description

Racing has always been a part of mans existence. As technology changes and improves, so does what we can race in. By the 1950`s there were a lot of excessive cars, mainly Fords as they had been selling in the immediate post war years. Since these were now cheap and strong, they were great for younger drivers to buy and greatly modify for hot rods. With the end of WW2, manufacturers were again able to concentrate on the home markets by introducing long over due and greatly improved models of everything. The auto market was no different, with `upscale` versions of everything. The Chevrolet Custom and Deluxe models had all kinds of improvments over their downscale versions. As the years went by and newer cars came out, these post WW2 cars were now cheap enough, and just in time for the hot rod and low riders to be able to pick up cheap and greatly modify for their unique preference. They became rolling works of art. From the 2019, 22nd Annual Carpinteria, California Rods and Roses show.
