Description
Meadow is a type of ecosystem dominated by grass vegetation. The most common grassland plants are grasses Poaceae family, beetles Fabaceae, blades Cyperaceae and gallbladder Asteraceae. Livestock vegetation is mesophilic, making it a natural transition between xerophytic arid, steppe grass communities and hygrophic wet meadows and swamps. As a rule, meadows are an azione type of vegetation, because they can develop in different vegetation zones. The exception is the subalpine and alpine meadows, which, as zonal vegetation, develop above the upper forest border.
