The term `Coupe` comes from the French, from the horse-drawn carriage days, when the driver was up front in an open compartment, with room in back for only two passengers. The earliest car versions were built the same way.As time progressed along with the changing of the seasons, the driver was enclosed with the passengers. The three windows refer to the two side window plus the rear window, as we have on this 1936 Ford three Window Coupe in Black. From the 2019, 22nd Annual Carpinteria, California Rods and Roses show.
