Carpinteria California Creek Royalty-Free Stock Image

When the Spanish explorer of 1769 led by Gasper de Portola came upon this area, they were the Europeans to see the inner parts of California. A nd what they found were the local Chumash villagers were very skillful at making canoes, de Portola name the place `La Carpinteria`, or `Carpinter`s shop`.There were also thousand of trout spawning in the stream.Now efforts have been underway to remove the non-native plants to help bring back the native pants and fish.
