Quedlinburg is a German city, the center of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The city lies in the south of the country, on the river Bode. Its population is 22,795. The first mention of the town dates back to 922. The church, the castle and the old town - preserved houses - have been a part of UNESCO World Heritage since 1994.
