Mt. Fuji, Japan - Snowcapped Volcano Stock Photography

Mt. Fuji, Japan, is located about 60 miles southwest of Tokyo. It is a dormant volcano, the last eruption having occurred 1n 1707. It is the tallest mountain in the country of Japan and it has inspired artists for its beautiful, symmetrical conical shape. It is also a place of religious importance to the Japanese people. It is surrounded by several lakes and has a snow cone each year until around June. Because of the local weather the mountain is clouded in much of the year and one is fortunate to visit on a day that is clear.
