Stained glass of Saint Caterina de Siena, Church of Saint Martin, Portofino, Italy #157783545
Description
Pictured is a stained glass of Saint Caterina de Siena in the church of Saint Martin in Portofino, Italy. Saint Catherine of Siena was a Dominican tertiary, mystic and one of the patron saints of Italy. The lovely striped church is dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours and was built in 986 in Romanic-Lombard style. In 1548 under the shelf of the altar, a case containing the memorabilia of the saint martyrs Dorotea, Cassiano and Vincenzo was found, and thus the church was consecrated. Subsequently, it will be restored time and time again. The current building is the result of the 19th century changes.
