Although most of the buildings in the view are not useable due to not having a roof and floors there are some lower rooms which have been turned into a small gift shop and interpretation centre, The image was taken early morning just after Dudley Zoo had opened and there were very few people in evidence, slightly marred by the green litter bins scattered about, the scene does convey a sense of historical merit and one can imagine being in the middle of the courtyard saddled on a white horse and clad in shining armour ready to joust
