The original wooden church was built in 1226 on the initiative of the bishop of Cracow Iwona Odrowąż. After the fire, a new, gothic, brick church was erected. Its construction lasted 8 years and ended in 1434. In 1706 and 1719 transformed into baroque. The church is located at 11 Staromiejska Street in Sandomierz.
