Lion And Interesting Hybrid Sculpture On The Left Side Of The Facade Of The Genoa Cathedral Editorial Photo

Pictured is stone lion sculpture and an interesting hybrid stone sculpture on the left side of the façade of the Genoa Cathedral. The hybrid sculpture forms the base of a column and has the body of a lion and a face with almost human features. Also called la Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, it was consecrated in 1118 though construction was not completed until the 17th century. The striped exterior is a landmark feature of Genoa, northern Italy.
