Description
Pictured is an 1852 Fountain dedicated to Jean-Louis Cavalier in Gourdon Village, France. In 1847 Jean-Louis Cavalier bequeathed 20,000 francs for the construction of a public fountain. Gourdon is a village with only 416 inhabitants perched on a dizzingly high, rocky outcrop overlooking the Valley of the Loup. The village is mostly animated by its craftspeople and their workshops, its colorful shops and its restaurants.
