Grjotagja cave is a small lava cave near lake Myvatn in Iceland. The surroundings of the lake and the cave are dotted with pseudo-craters, as can be seen near Skutustadir. Not far away is the Dimmuborgir lava field, whose particular forms have made the site famous. This region is indeed located on the Atlantic ridge, from where many geological events. The grotto of Grjotagja provides access to the interior of the fault that marks the continental separation of the tectonics plates between Europe and America. Not far from there is the wide crater of Hverfjall, from where is a panoramic view over the region.
