Description
Cacti of America and Africa in the Corsini Greenhouse of the Botanical Garden in Trastevere, Rome, Italy. The Corsini Greenhouse was the first greenhouse built for the garden of the Corsini Palace in 1800. The Botanical Garden of Rome since 1883 is situated on the eastern side of the Janiculum hill behind the Corsini Palace. Today it`s directed by the Department of Environmental Biology of the Sapienza University of Rome and includes the archeological area situated on the Septimius Severus Bathes and the historical gardens of Palazzo Corsini, erected for the Corsini family between 1730ââ¬â1740 on designs of Ferdinando Fuga.
