Bryn Gwyn Standing stones in Anglesey #163349839
Description
It is not easy to find information on these two stones in particular. In 2012 an excavation was carried out in which the base of a destroyed stone, plus the holes for other stones were revealed. What we can actually see here today are two stones ââ¬â one 3 metres and other 4 metres high-The first report that we can find, from the seventeenth century, by the rector of the nearby village of Newborough, in which it is claimed that there were about twelve stones in the area, although it does not give any indication of whether they formed a circle or a stele of stones. According to the report, some of the stones had measured 12 meters in diameter. It is believed that the rest of the stones were torn down by treasure hunters.
