Men Scryfa | The Christian menhir #163641747
Description
We met other important prehistoric monuments near the Men an Tol area, from the Menhir of Scryfa ââ¬â half a mile away ââ¬â to the north, passing through the circle of stones of the nine maidens -1 mile ââ¬â to the Lanyon Quoit dolmen ââ¬â 2 miles.Men ââ¬âstone- Scryfa ââ¬âinscription. The inscribed stone is two metres high and probably belonged to some megalithic monument in the area before in the fifth or sixth century Christians erected it in the place we find it, and in it the inscription of ââ¬ËRIALOBRANI CUNOVALI FILIââ¬â¢ which in the Cornish language means: ââ¬ËRoyal Raven, son of the glorious princeââ¬â¢. The inscription stands out quite clearly when the setting sun illuminates it.
