Men Scryfa | The Christian Menhir Royalty-Free Stock Photo

We met other important prehistoric monuments near the Men an Tol area, from the Menhir of Scryfa – half a mile away – to the north, passing through the circle of stones of the nine maidens -1 mile – to the Lanyon Quoit dolmen – 2 miles.Men –stone- Scryfa –inscription. The inscribed stone is two metres high and probably belonged to some megalithic monument in the area before in the fifth or sixth century Christians erected it in the place we find it, and in it the inscription of ‘RIALOBRANI CUNOVALI FILI’ which in the Cornish language means: ‘Royal Raven, son of the glorious prince’. The inscription stands out quite clearly when the setting sun illuminates it.
