Seaweed is one of the biological resources found in coastal and marine areas. The term `seaweed` is ambiguous ambiguous because it is used for 2 different groups of `plants`. In Indonesian, the term seaweed is used to refer to both sea weeds and seagrasses. What is meant by sea weed is a member of a group of vegetation known as algae algae. These resources can usually be found in waters associated with the existence of coral reef ecosystems. Natural sea weeds can usually be lived on sand and dead coral substrates. In addition to living freely in nature, several types of sea weeds are also widely cultivated by some Indonesian coastal communities. Examples of types of sea weeds that are only widely cultivated include Euchema cottonii and Gracilaria spp.
