Radiography of the Barberini Harp in the National Museum Of Musical Instruments in Rome, Italy. The harp was built in the early 1600’s for the famous Barberini family. Located at the top of the harp the three bees represent the family coat of arms. The family gifted the harp to the famous singer and musician Marco Marazzoli. The harp was portrayed by the famous Roman baroque painter Giovanni Lanfranco, known as “The Allegory of music” now conserved in the Gallery of Palazzo Barberini in Rome. Located in the Palazzina Samoggia, formerly the “Prince of Piedmont” barracks near the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem, the National Museum Of Musical Instruments houses a collection of over 3000 exquisite musical instruments.An important part of the instruments displayed origin from the collection of the important Italian lyric tenor Gennaro Evangelista Gorga 1865-1957, in art Evan.
