Xin`anjiang Reservoir is located in Chun`an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Built in 1960. The reservoir area is about 580 square kilometers. At the highest water level, there are 1078 land bridge islands larger than 0.25 square kilometers. The water quality of Xin`anjiang Reservoir ranks first in the great lakes and rivers of China, reaching the drinking water standard, and is known as ââ¬Åthe China`s first show of waterââ¬ÂÃÂÃâÃÂÃâÃâÃÂ. On December 15, 1984, the Zhejiang Geographical Names Committee officially named Xin`anjiang Reservoir as ââ¬ÅThousand Island Lakeââ¬ÂÃÂÃâÃÂÃâÃâÃÂ.
