Irish Brigade Gettysburg Stock Image

A monument in the shape of a Celtic cross on the Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. It memorializes three New York regiments the 63rd 69th and 88th that fought in the Union Army of the Potomac against the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia at the battle of Gettysburg July 1 through 3 1863. A bronze Irish wolfhound dog lies at the base of the cross.
