Durga Puja is an annual festival celebrated in India and the greatest festival of Bengal. Durga Puja also referred to as Durgotsab by Bengali is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates worship of the Hindu goddess Durga. It is the most important festival in Bengal, and Bengalis celebrate with new clothes and other gifts, which are worn on the evenings when the family goes out to see the ‘pandals’ (temporary structures set up to venerate the goddess). Durga Puja is celebrated with joy all over India, especially West Bengal in worship of Goddess Durga. In recent years, Bengali communities in different parts of India and all over the world celebrates Durga puja. This shows that not only in India but all over the world it is a widely enjoyed occasion.
