The Palau de la Musica Catalana is an architectural jewel of Catalan Modernisme Art Nouveau, listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. It was built between 1905 and 1908 by the modernist architect Lluis Domènech i Montaner as a home for the Orfeo Catala, a local choral society. It is a profusely decorated and mystical hall, packed with figures and natural motifs, including colorful flowers, palms or fruits. On the second-level balcony of the main facade, each column is covered uniquely with multicolored glazed tile pieces in mostly floral designs.
