ORTHODOX CHURCH OF HOLY MARIA EGYPTIAN. The shrine with five towers and a bell tower, designed for the presence of 450 believers, was built of stone by Alexei Polozov in the then popular Russian-Byzantine style. It was painted by the famous professor of historical painting Mikhail Vasiliev, whose work can also be found in Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Zhytomyr, Sevastopol, Riga and even Paris.An interesting feature of the church is the tower clock, which is not characteristic of Orthodox architecture. The necessary funds for them were raised by the parishioners themselves.
