A Viking ring forts are a type of circular fortress of special design, built in Scandinavia at the age of the Vikings around 800-1000. All trelleborgs have a strictly circular shape, with roads and gates heading in four main directions. These common structures are sometimes partially surrounded by advanced walls.There are currently seven known Viking rings in Denmark and Sweden. Most of the seven trelleborg were dated to the government of Harold Bluetooth in Denmark. Denmark and Sweden are currently applying for the adoption of the Viking ring fortresstresses as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
