Description
Roman Catholic Church of St. Wenceslas is the oldest building monument in the Prague district of Prosek. It was built on the border of the plateau and on the slope of the Rokytka valley, probably before the founding of today`s settlement, and has undergone a number of reconstructions during its existence. According to surveys, the church was established at the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries, or in the middle of the third quarter of the 11th century. The first of a series of construction works took place at the beginning of the 13th century. The parish Plebania has been documented here since 1311. The names of pastors have been known since 1356. Around 1420 the church was destroyed by the Hussites and then transferred to the Utraquists, who repaired it in the 1870s and originally Gothic.
