Description
The red mangrove tree (Rhizophora mangle) is recognized by it's tall arching roots, called prop roots with sturdy green leaves. It serves as an ecological balance in Florida that provides a food source, hinders erosion, creates an estuary, is a breeding ground, and a natural safe haven for juvenile fish. It's always located on coastal salt water.
