La Revellata Lighthouse - Corsica, France Stock Photography

Located in the commune of Calvi, in Corsica, the lighthouse of La Revellata is also called lighthouse of the gulf of Calvi. The building marks the north-west coast of the island, from the Gulf of Galéria to the coasts of Agriates. Accessible by a pedestrian pathway, the La Revellata lighthouse was commissioned in the mid-19th century, in 1844, and is now listed in the general inventory of cultural heritage.The current lighthouse, a 19.3 meter high building, is a square tower on a rectangular base. Made of masonry stone, it is now fully automated and remotely controlled from Bastia.
