Pictured is `Progress` by Lee Lawrie located above the north, 49th street facade of One Rockefeller Center in New York City. This gilded and polychrome limestone Art Deco bas-relief sculpture was created by Lawrie in 1937. The central figure is Columbia, goddess of liberty and the personification of America. She is carrying an olive branch of peace and a bowl of flames symbolizing power. She stands behind an eagle, which is landing, and before the mythological winged horse, Pegasus, which is taking off into flight.
