A motorboat passes by the starboard side of the Russian wooden battleship Poltava. Neva river, St. Petersburg #168889497
Description
This ship is an exact copy of the Russian 54-gun sailing battleship of the 4th rank Poltava, launched on June 15/26, 1712 from the slipway of the St. Petersburg Admiralty. The Russian Tsar-reformer Peter I personally took part in the construction of the original ship. The original ship got its name in honor of the important victory won by the Russian army over the Swedes in the Battle of Poltava, and became the first battleship laid down and built in the St. Petersburg Admiralty
