Mother nature took it’s toll today on the historic lamp post clock located in front of Union Station. The clock, originally erected in the 1880’s at 10th & Main and relocated in 1918 to 11th& Grand, was eventually installed in front of the Station in 1936. The historical heart of the original clock – its 1880’s mechanism – was restored separate from the outer pedestal and is currently on display, in working order, inside the Station.
