The room of the 24 hours of the Casina delle Civette, exceptional example of Roman Liberty style today Museum of Villa Torlonia, Rome, Italy. The vault of the cupola, which was painted in 1909 by Giovanni Capranesi, is divided into eight panels, which depict the 24 hours dancing among rose tendrils. At the base of each ceiling rib there is a stucco relief with a phoenix rising from the ashes. The room is clearly intended as a glorification of the Torlonia family, who are symbolized by the roses and comets, and the celebration of their eternal fame, among the phoenix and the hours. The floor is decorated with a polychrome nineteenth century mosaic, which depicts Mars and Venus originating from the House of the Princes. The room was used as sitting room by the prince Giovanni Torlonia. The house of the owls, which was the residence of Prince Giovanni Torlania the younger until his death in 1938, is today part of the Museum complex of Villa Torlonia and has been designated as the Museum of Liberty Glass.
