Description
Hancock Shaker Village is a former Shaker commune in Hancock and Pittsfield, Massachusetts that was established by 1790 and active until 1960. It has 20 historic buildings, artifacts, extensive gardens and trees, a working farm, and hiking trails. One of the most notable buildings in the village is the `Round Stone Barn` built in 1826. That barn was built in a circular shape for several reasons, the primary one being that it was the most functional.
