Oscar, Emmy, and Tony Award winning actress Anne Bancroft is photographed outside the Morosco Theatre in midtown Manhattan after performing in `Golda,` in 1977. The play about the late Israeli prime minister Golda Meir ran from November, 1977 thru February 1978. She joked to the photographer, `Oh, you are very brave to take my picture without makeup.` The lensman eased her `fears` by jokingly replying, `That`s okay; I`m not wearing any makeup either.` Bancroft, who collaborated on several film projects with husband, Mel Brooks, studied in the Actor`s Studio under Lee Strasberg and was also a screenwriter, director, singer, and had a deft comedic touch of her own. She was known by many for her role as a seductress opposite Dustin Hoffman in the film `The Graduate.` She died in New York City from uterine cancer on June 6, 2005 at the age of 73.
