The Bay of Kotor is located in the Adriatic Sea in the southwest of Montenegro. It is 28 kilometers long and high in sea. It is the only fjord in the Mediterranean. The bay is composed of small bays and connected by slender channels, forming the most European One of the good natural ports. Two small islands in the fjord have become an important tourist area in Montenegro. One is St. George Island, which has a Benedictine monastery built in the 12th century. The other is the Island of Our Lady of the Rocks, which has a Church of Our Lady of the Rocks built by the Venetian in the 15th century.
