A statue of Rousseau is situated upon the Ile Rousseau, an island and park in Geneva, situated in the middle of the Rhone. It was named after the philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. He is seating on a chair, writing a letter and holding a book with the text: If the life and death of Socrates are those of a wise man, the life and death of Jesus are those of a God, a quote from Rousseau`s Ãâ°mile ou De l`éducation 1762. The island is connected to the shore by the Bergues bridge.
