Emcee Michael Feinstein interviews a guest, renowned gossip columnist Liz Smith, on a chilly night in the Times Square district of Manhattan. The occasion is the grand opening of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum on November 15, 2000. Feinstein is a noted pianist, arranger, and music historian. Smith, a Texas transplant to Gotham, had a long and successful career writing columns for the New York Daily News, the New York Post, and Cosmopolitan magazine. Known as `The Grand Dame of Dish,` her witty repartee easily broke up her interlocutor. Smith died on November 12, 2017 in Manhattan at the age of 94.
