Mountains on the horizon, Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. The Kamchatka Peninsula stretches from north to south for 1200 km. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow up to 93 km isthmus - Parapolsky Dol. The greatest width up to 440 km is at the latitude of Cape Kronotsky.
