Description
One of the longest festivals in Nepal, the six-month `Fishing Festival` was held on January 16, 2018 in Bad Gad among the three ancient capitals of the Kathmandu Valley. The festival was performed by local dancers performing the grand Durga dance On. This tradition originated from the Mara dynasty in the 10th to 18th centuries. It is considered to be a sacred tantric ritual, which can defend the country and people from being invaded by demons and obtain peace.
