Description
The entrance to the Acropolis is made through a large door called the Propylaea. To its right and front side is the Temple of Athena Niké. A large bronze statue of Athena, made by Phidias, was originally in the center. To the right of where this sculpture was erected is the Parthenon or Temple of Athena Parthenos. To the left and at the end of the Acropolis is the Erechtheion, with its famous stoa or rostrum supported by six caryatids. On the southern slope of the Acropolis are the remains of other buildings, including an open-air theater called Teatro de Dioniso,
