Temple of Hephaestus, Athens. #176308412
Description
The agora of Athens was the center of the political, administrative, commercial and social activity of ancient Athens, its religious and cultural focus, and the place of imparting justice. It was a wide open space, roughly rectangular, flanked by an accumulation of public buildings. Although most of the buildings of the Ancient Agora are not preserved in very good condition, today we can still appreciate how the Stoa de Atalo building and the Temple of Hephaestus, one of the best preserved temples of antiquity, were in the past.
