Indian sambar or sambar also called sambur deer, sambhur, Tamil: Kadaththi man, is a type of large deer that is common in Asia. Common species have large body features with brownish coat color. Sambar can grow as tall as 102 cm - 160 cm to the shoulder with a weight of around 546 kg. Sambar generally lives in the forest and depends on shrubs or grasses. They generally live in groups of 5-6 members.
