Singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer Ray Charles goes full throttle as he performs in concert outdoors at ChicagoFest in Chicago, Illinois on August 6, 1980. Charles, a rhythm and blues pop music and blues superstar, went blind from glaucoma at the age of 6. In his long and illustrious career, Charles won 19 Grammys and a Lifetime Achievement Award. He died on June 10, 2004 at the age of 73.
