Description
Pictured is a sculpture by Las Vegas based artist Tim Bavington titled `Matchbox`. It is public art in Victory Park, a development around the American Airlines Center. Made of steel pipe and automotive paint, ââ¬ÅMatchboxââ¬Â was inspired by the Beatles song of the same name, recorded in 1964. The song was also performed in 1927 by blues singer Blind Lemon Jefferson, who, interestingly, kickstarted his career on the street corners a few miles from Victory Park.
